AUGUSTA, Ga., June 19, 2020 -- Best Lawyers®, the oldest and most respected guide to the legal profession, released the 2020 Edition of Texas' Best Lawyers today. The stand-alone publication, using information excerpted from the 26th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America (2020), highlights 4,170 lawyers recognized for their top legal talent, along with 272 "Lawyer of the Year" recipients from Texas. Additionally, the newly designed publication features notable local news and profiles of firms and individuals across the region.
Texas' Best Lawyers will be mailed to recognized lawyers in Texas, in addition to subscribers of the Austin American-Statesman, The Dallas Morning News, Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News, and The Wall Street Journal (in Texas). The digital publication is available online at www.bestlawyers.com.
Also included in the publication is information on the award methodology process, the Best Lawyers metro area map for Texas, and a brief company overview.
For research purposes, smaller and more rural cities located within a reasonable distance to larger cities are combined into single geographical regions called "metro areas" to help collect as much feedback and data as possible. "Lawyer of the Year" awards are designated through these metro area distinctions. Texas, as defined by Best Lawyers, is composed of nine metro areas: Austin, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, Great Plains, Houston, San Antonio, and Tyler.
"Lawyer of the Year" honorees are based on extremely high overall feedback within specific practice areas and metropolitan regions. Texas' Best Lawyers "Lawyer of the Year" section includes a feature on Amy Warr, attorney at Alexander Dubose Jefferson LLP, who was named the 2020 Appellate Practice "Lawyer of the Year" in Austin.
